Hello! I’m Kayla (she/her).

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Washington State. I graduated from the University of Washington with a Master’s in Social Work in 2012. I worked for 11+ years at the Harborview Abuse and Trauma Center, providing trauma-focused therapy to children, teens, and adults before venturing out to private practice. I believe that while traumatic events can profoundly change individuals, families, and communities, a life of meaning and value is possible after trauma. I feel honored to be a small part of the healing process and try to make therapy feel approachable, safe, and even a little fun.

I have extensive training and practice providing evidence-based Cognitive Behavioral Therapies (CBTs) for traumatic stress, anxiety, depression, and child behavior concerns including: Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Prolonged Exposure Therapy (PE), Common Elements Treatment Approach (CETA), and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). I also integrate Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) into therapy, a third wave CBT therapy that incorporates mindfulness and other skills to help people accept their experiences and break unhelpful patterns.

Despite spending the past 17 years in Seattle, I will always be a Montanan at heart. I am a proud member of the Beyhive, a Swiftie, a catlady, and a food enthusiast.
